Seal Heavy

Stream Description

Seal Heavy is produced by Canadian Natural Resources from the Peace River oilsands formation by conventional (cold flow, CHOPS) production methods. Seal Heavy is a heavy crude oil and bitumen blended with diluent to meet pipeline specifications for density and viscosity. Seal Heavy is delivered to Edmonton on the Rainbow Pipeline system.

Reduced TAN, BTEX, pentanes, and hexanes were recorded for the September sample of Seal Heavy. Simulated distillation results showed a smaller naphtha and larger residue.
