OSA is a light sweet synthetic crude produced from the Suncor Canada Project located north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The Suncor facilities includes a mine, SAGD and upgrader operations. OSA is a classic bottomless blend of hydrotreated naphtha, distillate, and gasoil fractions produced from a coker based upgrader facility. The Suncor project came on stream in 1967 and became the world's first oil sands operation.

Slightly increased butanes and decreased C5 x C7 contents were recorded for the May sample of Suncor Synthetic A. Simulated distillation results showed a shift from the gas oil fraction to the naphtha and distillate cuts.
